Eleven Recruiting is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join one of our leading defense and space manufacturing partners, onsite in Huntington Beach, CA.
Responsibilities: - Program milling machines utilizing CAD/CAM (Mastercam), verifying conformance of generated toolpaths with drawing requirements, designing/creating custom fixtures/jaws, and interfacing with shop floor operators.
- Must be able to work from engineering drawings/CAD files, customer blueprints and specifications in both metal and composite materials.
- Work with 5-axis mills, Live Tooling Lathes and/or mill-turn machining centers
- Plan jobs by developing machining sequences, tooling requirements, and setup strategies for multi?axis machining centers (vertical, horizontal, 5?axis, and mill?turn).
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis/4th axis rotary mills, multi-axis lathes and VTLs.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies to maximize production efficiency and part quality.
- Be able to edit legacy programs and verify effectiveness of changes.
- Uses standard operating procedures to generate, modify, transfer/load, and archive verified programs to maintain traceability.
- Must be familiar with all standard machine shop processes and procedures as well as a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- First article verification of dimensions in finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
- Follows traveler steps to complete the assignment.
- Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
- Maintains inventory of completed products.
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Work independently as required.
- Safely performs tasks, follows applicable safety practices, policies, and safe work behavior.
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Precision assembly of machined components.
- Mold design consultant on manufacturing feasibility.
- Consultant on improving machining time for profitability.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Substantial Mastercam programming experience.
- Prototype experience is a plus.
- Composite machining is a plus.
- Knowledge of Quality Management systems AS9100.
- GD&T experience.
- Conventional machining experience is a plus.
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Math.
- Basic computer skills.
- Machining training is a plus.
- Current or active security clearance is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (green card holder) or other status as a U.S. Person.
Salary: $94,000 - $104,000
