The Student Nurse LNA Extern Program is open to UVM nursing students who have completed their Sophomore year. Through a mentoring relationship with Licensed Nurse Assistants, Student Nurse LNA Externs are able to provide direct patient care under the LNA scope of practice. Externs will also receive observational learning experiences by working one-on-one with their LNA mentor/preceptor to a variety of different patient populations.
