Job Description

Salary: $114,200 - 114,200 per year Requirements:

  • We require a bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience with PLC programming or automation engineering.
  • We require 4+ years of experience in PLC-controlled automation and diagnosing issues in a process or production setting.
  • We require 4+ years of experience with robotics work cells and control systems.
  • We require 4+ years of experience programming in Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys ladder logic and structured programming.
  • We require 4+ years of experience with electrical theory, robotics, control components, and automated equipment.
  • We require the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, holidays, and varying shifts.
  • We require the physical capability to lift up to 49 lbs, stand and walk for up to 12-hour shifts, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
  • We prefer a masters degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • We prefer a masters degree or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • We prefer experience leading controls in manufacturing or other complex industrial environments.
  • We prefer experience identifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying motor controls, including starters, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components.
  • We prefer experience interpreting and updating mechanical and electrical drawings.
Responsibilities:
  • We provide subject matter expertise for troubleshooting and deep-dive investigations, helping determine root causes and actions that reduce downtime on critical equipment.
  • We partner with building operations, operations engineering, start-up teams, software teams, ACES, and safety to improve material handling equipment performance and deliver projects.
  • We maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
  • We monitor equipment metrics and work with maintenance and operations teams to resolve performance issues across the site.
  • We deliver escalation support to automation engineers during and after business hours, both on-site and remotely, to ensure hardware and controls software are restored quickly.
  • We lead continuous improvement efforts to maximize reliability, uptime, and operational throughput.
  • We mentor junior engineers and help build team capability through technical guidance and hands-on support.
  • We support innovative automation projects and contribute to system design enhancements for conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print-and-apply systems, and SCADA devices and programs.
  • We help optimize site operations so customers receive orders with our signature speed and accuracy.
