The Opportunity

This role puts you at the center of a high-value client portfolio in the paper and pulp industry, where your technical expertise directly protects and grows key accounts. You'll serve as the primary technical contact for paper mill customers, translating deep specialty chemical knowledge into measurable outcomes for both the client and the business. It's a field-facing, relationship-driven position with real impact on customer retention and revenue.

Your Day-to-Day

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for paper mill accounts, building trust and long-term client relationships
• Deliver strategic recommendations and best practices for specialty chemical product implementation and optimization
• Resolve complex technical issues quickly to minimize customer disruption and protect account retention
• Educate customers on new features and product capabilities to drive optimal adoption
• Partner with the District Sales Manager to develop account plans and manage an opportunity pipeline in CRM
• Lead technical check-ins and contribute to Business Reviews with clear articulation of solution value
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Service, R&D, and Portfolio Management to deliver on customer commitments
• Provide structured field feedback to R&D and Portfolio Management teams
• Maintain consistent on-site presence to ensure adequate coverage and identify new business opportunities
• Document all service findings and customer interactions within CRM after every visit

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience with paper and pulp specialty chemical solutions, technical support, and account management — required
• Demonstrated ability to solve customers' technical challenges using deep product knowledge
• Proficient in on-site technical and mechanical testing
• Goal-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying new business
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and analytical tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight travel
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
