Staff Accountant  Location: Earth City, MO (Hybrid – 3–4 days in office)

The Staff Pad has partnered with a well-established, family-owned distributor of low-voltage electronics, to hire a Staff Accountant. This is an opportunity to join a company that is actively modernizing its operations, investing in technology, and building scalable financial processes.

This role sits at the core of the accounting function. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end close, and contributing to process improvements that impact the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Review daily cash activity and ensure transactions align with expectations
• Prepare and post journal entries as needed
• Support transaction processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory
• Assist with monthly close activities, including:

- Bank reconciliations, prepaids, and accruals

- Month-end journal entries

- Financial statement preparation support

• Assist with corporate filings, sales tax returns, and compliance-related reporting
• Maintain strong knowledge of accounting practices for both book and tax purposes
• Partner with leadership on internal controls and process improvements
• Contribute to special projects and broader team initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365 or INFOR is a plus)
