Buttery Company is a family-owned and operated distributor & retailer of ranch, plumbing, hardware, electrical, lumber and building material since 1892.

We operate across both wholesale and retail channels with our primary customers being retail hardware, feed & lumber dealers, farm & ranch/pet/auto parts stores, co-ops, and plumbing/electrical/well service contractors throughout Texas, southern Oklahoma, and eastern New Mexico.

Job Description/Summary:

This is a full or part-time position that requires an associate to be outgoing, friendly, and helpful to welcome and assist our customers with purchasing decisions, process transactions, and maintain a clean and visually appealing sales floor. A sales associate must enjoy interacting with customers and be able to provide the customers with a seamless, positive shopping experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Greet all customers in a friendly, helpful, and professional way as they enter the store or call in.
  • Quickly and actively seek out customers to assess their needs, answer questions and provide solutions.
  • Provide customers with detailed product information and recommendations if requested
  • Advise customers on promotions and sales
  • Totaling purchases and processing cash, check and credit card payments
  • Process exchanges, returns, and refunds according to company policy
  • Resolve complaints in a professional manner or escalate to the appropriate channels if unable to resolve the issue
  • Maintain assigned areas to ensure merchandise is stocked, shop-able and the area is clean and safe.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures as specified in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
