Summary

Social media, photos, and videos are central to how the Dow Jones News Fund communicates to the media industry, prospective interns, and its own community. This photographer will help document the DJNF program at the American University School of Communication and then prepare and deliver that media to the DJNF and SOC staff.

Essential Functions

  • Take photos in the classroom and at activities that show the interns “practicing journalism,” learning valuable skills, and enjoying themselves.

  • Take three to five video testimonials, shot horizontally, in 20 - 60 second increments.

  • Include full cutlines that include complete identification of all people pictured or recorded, including when and where and credits for themselves.

  • Deliver photos and videos to the DJNF staff via Dropbox, email, CD, flashdrive, or other agreed upon format.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Part-time.

  • 15 hours per week.

Salary Range

  • $25.00 per hour.

Required Education and Experience

  • Progress toward a degree in photography or equivalent experience.
