Live-In Estate Housekeeper / Houseperson 

Overview

A wonderful, discreet couple residing in a quiet and exquisitely maintained 10,000 sq. ft. private residence in Saddle River, NJ are seeking an energetic, reliable individual with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic. This is a live-in, full-time quarantine position focused on detailed indoor and outdoor housekeeping and property care.

The role is highly structured, schedule-driven, and ideal for a candidate who values routine, precision, and maintaining an immaculate environment. Due to significant health considerations, adherence to quarantine protocols is essential.

Compensation

• Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 annually , depending on experience

• Live-in accommodation provided

Schedule & Quarantine Requirements

• Five (5) active working days per week

• Two (2) non-working days per week , avoiding enclosed indoor environments

Due to the employers’ severe heart conditions and autoimmune health issues , this position operates as a strict quarantine role . On non-working days, the ideal candidate must not enter enclosed public spaces and is expected to engage only in low-risk outdoor activities such as:

• Hiking

• Biking

• Outdoor cafés

• Open-air venues

Strict compliance with these protocols is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Housekeeping

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all interior spaces, including but not limited to:

  • Library

  • Kitchen and breakfast room

  • Front hallways and great room

  • Living room

  • Primary bedroom and bathroom

  • All additional bedrooms and bathrooms

  • Exercise room

  • Basement areas

• Detailed dusting, vacuuming (with training provided for this specific environment), and mopping

• Periodic hand-cleaning of select flooring surfaces

• Cleaning moldings and architectural details

• Polishing brass fixtures, including front hall railings

• Polishing silver on a scheduled basis

• Methodical cleaning of the front door

• Steaming household items as needed

• Basic laundry duties

• Transporting and organizing cases of water

Exterior & Property Care

• Watering indoor plants and outdoor urns during spring, summer, and fall

• Applying deer spray seasonally

• Cleaning outdoor lanterns, gates, and the sculptural mailbox

• Charging, placing, and maintaining household cameras

Periodic & Annual Maintenance (Training Provided)

• Annual power washing of patios, walkways, and urns

• Sealing and caulking moldings annually

• Staining the swing set annually

Work Structure & Training

• All duties are performed according to a clearly defined and written schedule

• Tasks are organized as daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual responsibilities

• Employers provide comprehensive support, including:

  • Written daily schedules

  • Detailed manuals

  • Task-by-task and room-by-room demonstrations

  • Checklists for all areas

  • Instruction on proper tools, chemicals, and techniques

Requirements

• Proven experience in high-standard housekeeping or estate care

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured systems

• Physically capable of hands-on cleaning and light lifting

• Discretion, reliability, and professionalism

• Willingness and ability to strictly adhere to quarantine protocols

• Comfortable living on-site in a private residence
