Retail Manager

The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to “Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line.”  WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership abilities development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Retail Manager.  this job offer reports directly to the Director of Retail Operations.
The Retail Manager will work full-time in a continuous, fast-paced, exciting environment.  Seasonally, weekend or weekday additional hours may be required.  The incumbent will have two major areas of responsibility:  first, managing the stockroom to include: oversight of the reception of incoming products, their recording and maintenance, and packing and shipment of outgoing products, which have been purchased via the WPAOG Gift Shop website, or via telephonic or similar order process, recommending actions and participating in organizing and driving sales via the Gift Shop Internet channel/website; second, oversight of the everyday operations of the brick and mortar shop to include: proper processing of invoices and other administrative necessities, creating fresh and seasonally appropriate visuals to drive sales, creating new training tools to increase staff expertise and capabilities, physically working on the sales floor to drive sales, and lead the sales team through example, participate in the production of new graphics, catalogs, and special events to increase traffic and sales.  this job offer is technically and physically demanding, requiring the capability to work on ladders, lift up to 50 pounds and work on the sales floor for extended periods.  At times, offsite work may be required in support of class reunions or similar sales or delivery opportunities.
The incumbent must have retail practice.  Personal attributes must include excellent customer service and oral and written communications expertise with expertise of Microsoft Office.  The incumbent must be able to rapidly become an expert in operating the Celerant point of sale and inventory management system.  Excellent organization and time management expertise are required.  Additionally, the Retail Manager must be able to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects at one time.
