Responsibilities: Position Summary:

Incumbent will coordinate team work flow and dispatch team members throughout the hospital to promote efficient transfer and lift services to assist with safe patient handling while maintaining a safe work environment for the patient care providers. Additionally, incumbent will track, deliver, clean, and perform basic repair of equipment & supplies. Furthermore, incumbent assists direct patient care providers with safe patient handling, (to include lifting, positioning, transferring, and transporting), throughout the hospital. Will be responsible for promoting an environment of safe patient handling which provides for the safety of our patients while maintaining a safe work environment for the patient care providers. Provides direct patient care as well as education and training for health care providers in the appropriate use of lift techniques and transfer equipment. Additionally, incumbent will track, deliver, clean, and perform basic repair of equipment & supplies.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology
  • Skill to perform basic mathematical computations, and to use general office equipment including computers, copiers, and calculators
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must be available to work overtime as patient care needs demand
  • Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum one year experience in a healthcare environment or training in a healthcare/emergency/rescue field
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Solid interpersonal skills. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically communicate and interact with a variety of people including faculty, staff and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred
