Farm Workers (Poultry Farm) $16.90 Hour
Location: Ramona, CA
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 2.30pm
Overview of Position:
We are looking to hire Poultry Farm Workers, who will be responsible for taking care of the baby chicks daily, and may assist with administering vaccines. Training will be given in how to perform these tasks. Duties may also involve monitoring the growth and wellbeing of the birds and assisting with moving birds within between buildings.
Job Duties:
Help with vaccine program and administering vaccines to the baby chicks
Walk through building to monitor the health and wellbeing of the birds
Cleaning of pullet houses, and supporting with other cleaning duties around the farm
Monitor the supply of automatic feeders and fresh drinking water supplies
Identify any sick birds, training will be given, and alert the Vet on site
Monitor any issues with feed lines, drinkers, fans, nest doors, etc
May assist with moving birds from place to place and moving them between buildings
Assist with maintaining accurate records of bird counts and vaccine information.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Flexible to work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays
Understand oral and written instructions and record vaccination information.
Ability to work with chemicals, such as detergents, disinfectants, etc.
Willing to shovel manure and sweep barn houses and other areas as required
Willing to Stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Working in a poultry house environment, including outdoors and in seasonal conditions
Working with live animals, and the related smells in a noisy environment with dust.
Drug Screen required.
