Crane Operator  

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking a Crane Operator that will be responsible for operating cranes as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.  

RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Operate a variety of cranes following prescribed safety regulations  
• Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area  
• Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling, and cleaning  
• Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction  
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards  
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels  
• All other duties as assigned  

QUALIFICATIONS  

• High school diploma or GED  
• Minimum three (3) years related experience in trades specific to job requirements or equivalent combination of education and experience  
• Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate cranes; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; knowledge of cranes and their uses; basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication) 
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, ability to work independently, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback  
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements  
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
