Job Description

We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a Smithfield account based out of Tar Heel, NC . This is a hybrid position offering consistent miles, steady schedules, and a mix of local and regional work.

Position Details:

• Location: Tar Heel, NC
• Job Type: Hybrid – Local & Regional
• Home Time: Weekly
• Operating Radius: ~300 miles

Pay & Compensation:

• Average: $1,172 per week ($60,961/year)
• Top Earners: $1,613 per week ($83,897/year)
• Paid by the load (based on experience)
• Consistent miles and routes

Miles & Freight:

• Average: ~1,500 miles per week
• No-touch freight
• Mix of local and OTR runs

Schedule:

• Hybrid schedule:
• • 12-hour local shifts
  • 2–3 OTR runs per week
• Start Time: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Typical schedules:
• • Sunday–Thursday
  • Tuesday–Saturday
• Night driving required
• Must be available for weekends and holidays

Job Duties:

• Deliver freight within regional operating area
• Handle both local and OTR assignments
• Maintain on-time and safe deliveries

Equipment:

• Slip seat operation
• Trucks cannot be taken home
• Must have reliable transportation to commute

Terminal Location:

• Tar Heel, NC

Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Must meet DOT and safety requirements
• Must be comfortable with:
• • Night driving
  • Hybrid (local + OTR) schedules
  • Weekend and holiday work

Hiring Area:

• Must live within 50 miles of Tar Heel, NC
