Job Description

Position Summary:

The Production Baker plays a foundational role in preparing high-quality baked goods in accordance with standardized recipes and production schedules. This full-time position requires consistency, efficiency, and a basic understanding of baking fundamentals in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately scale and mix doughs and batters using metric measurements.
  • Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., mixers, ovens, sheeters).
  • Scale, mix, and process various doughs.
  • Exhibit proficient knife skills. 
  • Communicate prep and ordering needs with bakery leadership. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage spaces.
  • Follow daily sanitation procedures.
  • Label, date, store, and consolidate all products in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely production.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of professional kitchen or bakery experience preferred.
  • Understanding of weights, measurements, and the metric system.
  • Knowledge of food sanitation and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Formal culinary training preferred but not required.
  • NYC DOH Food Hander’s certificate.
