General Overview:

Chama Mama is looking for a passionate and dependable  Baker to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality baked goods that reflect our commitment to excellence, consistency, and care. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in precision and detail, and thrives in a collaborative environment where every team member contributes to an exceptional dining experience.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, shape, and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked items according to established recipes and production standards.
• Maintain consistency in product quality, taste, and presentation across all batches.
• Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ovens, and mixers with attention to safety and proper technique.
• Monitor proofing times, baking temperatures, and overall product readiness.
• Maintain an organized and sanitary workspace in full compliance with DOH and company standards.
• Label, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products properly.
• Assist with daily production schedules and communicate any delays or challenges proactively.
• Support special orders, catering, and large-scale production needs when required.
• Participate in menu development and seasonal updates when invited.
• Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless service flow and timely production.
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and respect for all team members.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2–3 years of baking experience   in a professional environment (restaurant, bakery, or catering preferred).
• Strong understanding of dough fermentation, shaping, and baking fundamentals.
• Excellent time-management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of food safety, cleanliness, and temperature control standards.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a supportive team culture.
