Appliance Repair Technician

Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Columbia, MO (in-person)
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Overview:
Insight Contracting is seeking an experienced Appliance Repair Technician to join our maintenance team. This role focuses on appliance repair, but you will also assist with general property maintenance tasks. Over time, you can gain skills in other areas, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general repairs.

You will work with other maintenance staff, follow directions, and help keep properties in good condition. You will also participate in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent maintenance issues.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of hands-on appliance repair experience. Candidates without appliance repair experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair gas and electric appliances in residential rental units.
• Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, general repairs).
• Maintain organized tools and supplies in vehicles and storage areas.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent property maintenance issues.
• Track work and log details in the service-tracking app.
• Communicate clearly with managers, tenants, and team members.
• Share appliance knowledge with other team members when appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Assist with seasonal property tasks such as snow removal, plowing, and spreading ice melt.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on appliance repair experience.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a corporate-insurable driving record.
• Physical Requirements: Able to lift 50–80 lbs, maneuver tools and equipment, and work in various. weather conditions.
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and safely.
• Preferred: Experience with small engine repair.
