Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate AP History Teacher to join our K-12 American bilingual school faculty in Beijing, China. The successful candidate will teach Advanced Placement (AP) History courses (such as AP World History, AP U.S. History, and/or AP European History) to high-achieving high school students preparing for university study abroad. This role requires strong content knowledge, excellent instructional skills, and experience with inquiry-based, college-level teaching.

Key Responsibilities
• Teach AP History courses in alignment with AP curriculum frameworks and exam standards
• Design engaging lesson plans that emphasize historical thinking skills, document-based analysis, and academic writing
• Prepare students for AP examinations through formative and summative assessments
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners in an international classroom
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and academic leadership
• Participate in curriculum development, department meetings, and professional development
• Contribute positively to school life, including clubs, activities, or school events as required

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in History, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Valid teaching certification or license
• Demonstrated experience teaching AP History or equivalent college-preparatory courses
• Strong understanding of AP exam structure, rubrics, and scoring guidelines
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior international teaching experience
• Experience teaching ESL or EAL learners
• AP Reader experience or College Board–endorsed AP training
• Familiarity with inquiry-based or project-based learning approaches
