Special Education Extended School Year Summer Program Details:
The program will be hosted at the High School;
July 6, 2026-August 14, 2026
Monday thru Friday
Student day is from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM;
Teacher Aides daily hours will be determined upon appointment
There are 30 school days for students in ESY
Students are eligible for ESY as determined by the Committee for Special Education (CSE)
ESY programming focuses on maintenance of skills as they pertain to IEP goals
An introductory/Welcome meeting for staff is tentatively scheduled for June 3, 2026; 3:30-4:30 pm. Meeting will be Virtual. Set-up day is tentatively planned for Wednesday, July 1st and/or Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Positions:
Up to twenty (30) Extended School Year teacher aides (classroom and 1:1) (30 student days) to support students within the classroom, at lunch, recess, and to support daily arrival and dismissal;
Additional substitute teacher aides are also needed to fill in as needed.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; or
Four (4) years of experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are invloved; or
An equivalent combination of training and experience
General Duties:
Assist in the transition and acadmeic success of students.
